a stately neighbor’s famous green beans

Growing up, my mom kept a coffee can under the kitchen sink full of bacon grease from our weekend breakfasts or Saturday’s BLT lunches. She would then use that bacon grease when cooking our family’s green beans during the week.  I guess you could say that my love and appreciation for bacon started way young.
